Leanne Charlton School of Dance
Leanne started dancing at the age of 3. She started her training at Joyce Mason School of Dance and is also a former pupil of the Wendy Foster Theatre School where she studied to a high level in Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz. Throughout the years she has had many opportunities to perform and dance around the country, this includes taking part in local professional pantomimes, local and national dance festivals and represent our local area in dance conventions.
Chosen to dance with the National Youth Ballet where she performed at Sadlers Wells Theatre in London, Leanne also had the opportunity to participate in the "Changing of the Guard" at Buckingham Palace.
She was one of the selected girls to receive a York Ballet Scholarship and attended these classes every weekend for 2 years. When Leanne turned 16 she was given a three year scholarship to attend the Northern Ballet School in Manchester.
Opening her own dance school has always been Leanne's life long dream and since leaving college she has been furthering her teaching qualifications in Halifax and now has over 15 years teaching experience.
Dreams are now a reality and the “Leanne Charlton School of Dance”, established 2012 continues to grow. Leanne’s intention is for children to experience the joy and happiness that dancing brought to her.
